My rail trail essay on 51% show
I have an essay on today’s edition of the NPR show 51%. The intro to the piece is at 13:54.
It’s about my experience with the rail trail stalker and why women – like me – don’t speak up about stalkers and other threats to our safety.
On a much happier note about the rail trial, I’ve just learned that the Open Space Institute and the Wallkill Valley Land Trust have purchased the portion of the rail trail extending from New Paltz through Rosendale all the way to Kingston. They’re going to finish the trestle over route 213 so that you can walk across to the north side, and follow through to Kingston. The trail will now run for 23.7 miles!
That’s pretty exciting. But don’t forget your pepper spray.
