Rosendale Ramblings: snippets from the rural-ish life. By Sari Botton

For the past year or so, my husband, Brian, upstanding citizen that he is, has been devoting one Thursday evening a month to the Rosendale Zoning Code Review Committee – as have many other good folks in town. The committee has been working hard to come up with ways to make the town zoning work with the new comprehensive plan.

If that makes as little sense to you as it does to me, you might want to consider coming to the group’s town workshop tonight at the rec center, at 7 pm. They’ll be discussing all sorts of potential zoning changes, and as I understand it, this is your opportunity to chime in about things like whether you think the eastern end of main street should be converted to mixed use (commercial and residential) like the rest of the street, plus assorted parameters for hotels and resorts, and more.

I’ll be there. I might just even suggest rezoning the firehouse somewhere off of main street. Imagine that.
